I didn't reach my athletic peak until I was 43.
I didn't write my first book until I was 44.
I didn't start my podcast until I was 45.

At 30, I thought my life was over.
At 52 I know it's just beginning.

Keep running. Never give up. And watch your kite soar.

Invincible. Strong. Focused. Bold. Boundless. Beautiful. Healthy. Valued. Special. Inspiring. Authentic. Fulfilled. Successful. Happy.
Mustang. Eagle. Gazelle. Cheetah. Dolphin. Husky.

Just a few words to describe how running makes me feel.
Just a pair of sneakers. A road. Sunset (I am an evening runner). That is all it takes. That is my freedom.

Bargain of a lifetime.

free.

For your meaningful, healthy, authentic, true life.

I know it is hard to believe that running can have an unimaginable impact on your life quality. But believe me when I say it is true. I had been a non-runner until I became a runner. I know before and after all too well. My running has been on and off but at some point in time I always find back to it. My lifelong friend.

run for your life.

running became my solace.

I was a solo mom with a 4-year-old in a volatile life at my company, in my 3rd position in the matter of just 2 years, when I got to the point when running became my safe harbor. I started from scratch in 2011, for the manyeth time, with a new year’s resolution of shedding all the extra weight and reinsert running in my daily schedule. No matter what happened at work, my runs gave me strength for the day and I could easily dodge bullets, Matrix-style. Like, have your say, dude, I am running tonight.

Re-starting at ground zero in January, 2011, in May I decided to run my first half-marathon that year. In like… 4 months, to be accurate. Knowing myself accepting no limitations, I figured I needed a mentor to keep me o- tn track and avoid injuries, so I approached the best of bests in my country, the national marathon record holder since 1993 (and he still has been, ever since) and he said yes. We started the work which was one of the most humbling experiences in my life. I witnessed myself turning from cocky, always-on-the-defensive and wanting-all-at-once into abiding, focused and disciplined. September 4 that year brought a 15 minutes better half-marathon time than I had ever dreamed - together with a fun race experience and a record distance (my longest had been 17K before the half-mar, a strategy, leaving the last 4K for my heart to solve).

This journey in 2011 led me to sense running could be bigger than just actual running. I started endeavoring other running-related activities. I established a running club at my workplace for one, and I became the running ambassador of my city district, District 13, till I resigned, inspiring many to dip their toes into the sport for a more accomplished and balanced life in both communities.

Why did I feel it important to spread the word and involve as many as I could? Why did I want to share what I already knew?

because running is...

  • the best body sculptor. Takes you back to your natural shape and gives tones to it. Every bit of your body.

  • the best therapist. Refreshes your brain making it function properly, think clearly and straight. Gets you to find your answers to questions seeming unsolvable, organize your thoughts appearing fiercely chaotic during daytime. Assures you to have a safe daily slot to leave the world behind. An unmatched gain for your mental health.

  • the best challenger. Tests your limits, your willpower, your determination, your discipline. Urges you to go one more.

  • a cheap sport. All you really need is a good pair of running shoes - and you’re all set.

  • without limitations. You can start any day, regardless of age, gender, color, body size. The new label stuck on you will be runner. Kind of a cool one.

  • your ticket to long-lasting connections - running communities are really about support and friendships.

And I wanted, and still want everyone to experience that for themselves.

You, too.
